Enterprise Project with Max McMurdo
Posted: 5th June 2017We kicked off our enterprise project today with special guest Max McMurdo.
Our enterprise project will see each year group working on their own ideas, with special selling afternoons taking place in the coming weeks, with the most succesful groups reinvesting to take take part in a cross-BMAT sale in Harlow's Harvey Centre.
The entrepreneurial upcycler presented a special assembly which included a video of his appearance on the BBC programme 'Dragons Den.' He explained what it was like going up in front of the dragons, and some of the techniques he used to convince two of the business tycoons to invest in him and his business.
Following the assembly, Max visited each of the groups to talk about their ideas and give some advice to the young entrepreneurs and designers. Each group has chosen a local charity they will be donating their profits to, with a wide range of eco-friendly goods being created for sale, including:
- Bird Houses
- Key Rings
- Cake Pops
- Pet Treats
- Decorative Jars
- Car Washing and Air Fresheners
A presentation assembly concluded the day, with each group's representatives explaining their ideas to the rest of the school. Each group also nominated two 'Star Entrepreneurs' to receive a 'Max McMurdo Entrepreneur Award' certificate.
