Year 5 are learning how to approximate numbers to the nearest 100 in Maths. Mastering rounding, pupils develop greater number sense and become more adept at estimating results in everyday situations, such as estimating the total cost of groceries or predicting travel times!

This morning we welcomed Essex Fire Service who delivered an assembly on Halloween and Bonfire Night conveying some important safety tips. Such as staying with adults, looking for fire safe items to wear, appropriate houses to nock on as well as staying safe around fireworks.

In their History class, Year 2 Birch embraced the role of activists. They created a poster advocating for the end of bus segregation. The students then reenacted the 381-day protest that took place in Montgomery from 1955 to 1956, famously known as the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

SECONDARY SCHOOL APPLICATIONS - 12th SEPTEMBER 2020 - 31st OCTOBER 2020 -(Please click here for further information)

Secondary School Places

 

If your child is in Year 6, you can apply for a secondary school (Year 7) place between 12th September 2020 and 31st October 2020.

You will need to apply for an online account enabling you to make an application, please follow the online process.

 

Secondary schools at this point would normally organise an Open Day for pupils wanting to apply for next year but as we already know, this is far from a normal year. Please could you check with the relevant schools on their website to gain information on the process for this.

 

All applications received after 31st October will be treated as late and will only be processed after all the

on-time applications.

 

You are less likely to get a place at one of your preferred schools if you apply late.

 

Viewing Your Application

 

Once you have set up an account and carried out the relevant process to apply, you will be able to access your application online at any time.

 

You cannot change your preferences online after the closing date. If you are changing address, you must email the School Admissions Team with:

•           your child’s details

•           your new address

•           proof of new address which must be:

•           a copy of a signed tenancy agreement if you are renting

•           a solicitor’s letter confirming you have exchanged contracts if you are purchasing your new home
