Every morning at Little Parndon, the younger children focus on participating in RWI sessions. By participating in RWI activities, the children develop essential skills such as letter recognition, blending sounds, and decoding words.

In year 3, the children have been learning about 'Celebrating Difference' to understand the diversity in our community and the wider world. By exploring cultures and backgrounds, they are encouraged to embrace inclusivity and respect for everyone, regardless of differences.

Hazel in Year 2 has received a Blue Peter badge for creating a piece of art work for a story. After reading the story Hazel drew all the characters for the band. Birch class are very proud of Hazel and her achievement.

The children in the Grove had an amazing time crafting milkshakes. They were encouraged to engage in the entire process of preparing the ideal hot chocolate on their own. They greatly enjoyed both the creation and the savoring of their beverages.

Year 2 had an exciting Antarctica WOW Day, combining Geography lessons with themed activities like word searches, drawing, and mask-making. They received passports and boarding passes, checked in at a simulated airport, and took a virtual flight to Antarctica.

Year 6 explored respectful and disrespectful behaviors, building on Anti-Bullying Week. They examined how these behaviors look, sound, and feel, and their impact on others. The lesson enhanced the children's understanding, empathy, respect, resilience, and responsibility.

In year 6, we studied artist and sculptor Zaha Hadid, exploring her famous buildings like the London Aquatics Centre. We developed sketching and shading skills for our designs.

On Wednesday, 12th November, year 6 visited Hever Castle as part of our British Monarchy unit. This is where Anne Boleyn grew up, and Henry VIII also visited. We navigated mazes and enjoyed the play area. The children had a wonderful and enjoyable time!

We are thrilled to announce that Roman Garness from year 5 has been accepted into the Saint Lucia National Under-17 Boys' Football Team. Roman will participate in team training, camps, competitions, and other national team activities. Congratulations, Roman!

Parent Teacher Association (PTA / FOLP)

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Little Parndon Primary Academy, known as the Friends of Little Parndon (FOLP), is dedicated to enriching the educational experience of our students through fundraising and organising special events. Our PTA is committed to fostering a strong sense of community among parents, carers, and staff, while enhancing the learning environment for our children.

Your Involvement

As a parent or carer of a child at Little Parndon Primary Academy, you are automatically considered a member of FOLP. We warmly invite you to join our meetings, share your ideas, and participate in our initiatives. Working closely with school staff, we identify opportunities to support and enhance the educational experience for all students.

Events and Fundraising

Throughout the year, FOLP organises a variety of exciting events that bring joy to our students and families while raising valuable funds for the school. Some of our annual events include:

  • BBQ and Bounce: Community gatherings featuring bouncy castles, games, food, entertainment, and more.
  • Quiz Nights: Engaging and entertaining evenings for parents and carers to test their knowledge and socialise.
  • School Discos: Energetic and enjoyable events where pupils can dance and have fun in a safe environment.

We are always exploring new ideas and opportunities to further support the Little Parndon community and enhance the educational environment for our students.
