Personal Social Health and Economic (PSHE)

At Little Parndon Primary Academy, we believe that Personal Social Health and Economic (PSHE) education is crucial for the holistic development of our students. We utilise the Jigsaw programme, which is designed with children at its heart. Jigsaw’s cohesive vision helps children understand and value their place in the world, emphasising emotional literacy, resilience, and both mental and physical health.

Nurturing Emotional and Social Development

Jigsaw is committed to fostering emotional literacy, building resilience, and nurturing mental and physical health. The programme equips our school to deliver engaging and relevant PSHE education through a whole-school approach. Each lesson includes mindfulness practices, allowing children to develop emotional awareness, concentration, focus, and self-regulation.

Comprehensive and Progressive Curriculum

The implementation of Jigsaw offers a comprehensive programme for primary PSHE education, including statutory Relationships and Health Education. The curriculum is spiral, progressive, and fully planned, ensuring that children receive relevant learning experiences throughout their primary education. This structure helps students navigate their world confidently and develop positive relationships with themselves and others. Helping to build "The Little Parndon Child."

At Little Parndon, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality PSHE education that supports our students in becoming well-rounded, emotionally intelligent, and resilient individuals, prepared to contribute positively to society.

Please see below for the curriculum long-term overview. For more information on PSHE, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting with Mrs Green, our curriculum lead.
